By car. From the north exit the A1 onto the A19 towards Middlesbrough and then take the A174 following signs for Redcar. Then pick up signs for Whitby passing through Loftus and Easington before turning left into Staithes. From the south take exit the A1 onto the A168/A19 north before turning left onto the A172 all the way to the A171 signposted Whitby. At Grinkle take the A174 to Easington . In 2 miles turn left into Staithes.

Parking. There is no public parking in the old village. Use the council pay and display car park at the top of the village from £5 per day or Glen Vale a private secure car park from £4.50 per day.

By train. Take an East Coast Mainline train to Darlington. Change onto a Northern Rail service to Saltburn-by-the–Sea then take a taxi to Staithes which takes around 20 minutes.

By bus. Yorkshire Coastliner Bus Company offers regular services to Whitby from Leeds and York. From Whitby take the Arriva X56 Middlesbrough bus to Staithes which takes around 30 minutes.
